Customers expect merchants to send order confirmation and shipped notification emails to them after they place an order. These emails are a great opportunity to do one of the following:

• Educate Customers: Provide additional, pertinent information regarding the product(s) after order has been placed.

• Cross + Up Sell Products: Include related products that would complement the item they just purchased.

• Grow the Customer Relationship: Give your customer an incentive to come back to your website/store. Coupons, information about future promotions, and products updates can be very effective for generating future orders.

In Nexternal’s ECommerce Software, addenda can be added to these emails both globally (Settings/ Edit Policies, Addenda, and Disclaimers) and at the product level (Products/Edit E-Mail Addenda). If you want to be more aggressive with the messaging, you can opt to place it above the invoice in the email. If you want to be less aggressive, it can be appended below the invoice.
