Facebook has surpassed Google with the number of hits it gets, and has over 600 million active users. To ignore Facebook in your marketing strategy would be ignoring a huge segment with enormous potential.

One way to leverage Facebook’s popularity in your online business is the “Like” Button. With a simple click, users can share their longing for your product in their Facebook feed. It’s become very popular and you’ll see this button on news articles, blog posts and product pages. The best ecommerce software already has the Like Button integrated for you.

An even better way to publicize products through Facebook is to offer a way for users to share their online purchase. Eventbrite (an events registration site) studied their data and discovered that, of the users who shared events on Facebook, 40% did it before purchase, and 60% shared after purchase.
Even more interesting is the fact that a post-purchase share on Facebook drove 20% more sales than a pre-purchase share.
That’s a pretty compelling reason to want a little more than just a Like button.

Nexternal has integrated post-order sharing to both Facebook and Twitter. After placing an order, it is a matter of a few simple clicks to share that order with the user’s friends and followers. To make sure this feature is enabled in your Nexternal account:

  1. Log into the Order Management System and click on Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Compatible Software and click Edit.
  3. Scroll down to the Social Networking section and locate “Order Sharing”.
  4. Make sure the boxes in front of Facebook and Twitter are checked.

It’s that easy!
