North Wash Outfitters was established in 2005 to offer others the opportunity to enjoy this great land. Jared Hillhouse was working for renowned Climbing and Canyoneering guru David Black guiding at-risk youth. The school district cut the program in the spring of 2005 and Jared and his wife Amanda opened North Wash Outfitters LLP in the Fall. Originating in Bluff, Utah, they eventually moved locations to Blanding in the Fall of 2009. The opportunities became much more prevelant and access to the canyons became quicker.
The company continues to see great success with clients coming from all over the world to visit the vast expanses of canyons available in this region. While Jared works with the clients, Amanda sits quietly in the back ground telling him what to do and how to do it for everything to run smoothly. Coming from a medical and non-profit management background, Taryn has extensive experience in customer service and marketing. She is a Senior Account Manager for Nexternal and loves working with her clients to develop social media and marketing strategies to improve their online presence. In her spare time, she also runs a successful eCommerce jewelry and essential oils business.
