Mixed Case Discounts – Variety is the Spice of Life!
People love a good deal and they tend to spend more money, if they can get one. A fun way to offer your customers “deals” is with a “Mixed Case” or “Mix and Match” discount.
Let’s say for instance, you have a wholesale pet supply business. A big reason why your customers love ordering from you is you offer “Mix and Match” discounts on many of your products.
Example 1: A popular dog bowl will get a special price if you order 12 or more, but your customers don’t want 12 of the same color. They want 3 bowls of 4 different colors; Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. They are going to buy 12 bowls, so why not offer them a case discount?
This can be easily done in Nexternal. First you will want to create a category that these products will fall into. For example, “Mix and Match”. The products that you wish to be included in this discount will need to have this ‘Mix and Match” category set as the PRIMARY category. You will then set pricing at the product level by category with 2 tiers. On the second page, you will set the price tiers (per customer type).
Example 2: You have a winery and you are running special promotions for wines within your “ALL WINES” category that reflect higher discounts. (i.e.: 2 of 6 wines within the same category now get 30% off when you buy 6 or more, but the other 4 wines need to reflect the standard 10%). You are able to set these discounts for the specific wine(s) without double dipping from the category discount.
Yep, it’s as easy as that! If you have further questions please contact your Nexternal Account Manager.
