It is great to receive, but even more rewarding to give. Historically, Nexternal has always donated a significant amount of money at the end of the year to 5 to 10 charities selected based on input from our employees.  This year we decided to provide incentive for our employees to also give, so we instituted our first charitable match program.

If an employee personally donated to a 501(c)(3) organization, they could submit a receipt and Nexternal would match dollar for dollar, giving to the same organization.  Each employee could be matched up to $500 for the calendar year.  The result of this effort is that we were able to donate money to many more organizations. This year alone we have collectively donated more than we ever have in previous years!  Charitable organizations that we donated to via this program include:

    • KPBS
    • Nature Conservancy
    • World Wildlife Fund
    • Environmental Defense Fund
    • Natural Resources Defense Council
    • Global Giving
    • Groundworks San Diego
    • African Wildlife Foundation
    • Sea Shepherd Conservation Society
    • Planned Parenthood
    • Susan G. Komen Foundation
    • Walk to End Alzheimers
    • Save A Life Walk
    • Golden Hearts Animal Sanctuary
    • Unicef
    • Kids for Kids
    • Encinitas Education Foundation at Capri Elementary School
    • UVM Foundation
    • IMBA
    • MS Society
    •  The University of Connecticut Foundation, Inc. to benefit the Sandy Hook School Memorial Scholarship.

After summing the donations, we were inspired and so we made additional contributions outside of the matching program to:

      • San Diego Foodbank
      • Water.org
      • World Wildlife Fund
      • Against Malaria Foundation
      • ProKids Oceanside
      • Challenged Athletes Foundation

2012 has been a good year and we are fortunate to be able to share some of our success with those in need.  I would especially like to thank our clients – without them this would not have been possible!

            Sincerely,

Alex Gile
