Nexternal Software Update:- Coupon Discounting
Nexternal is excited to release two new coupon discounting features that we believe will allow clients to run more innovative promotions. The Coupon feature, Discount To, enables you to create a coupon that offers a dynamic discount amount that equals a specified amount. Eg. Buy $50 and get $1 shipping! Another example is that of creating a product and using this coupon feature to apply a fixed price to the product. Eg. Buy 5 products and a specified product will be $10!
This coupon feature was recently used by a Nexternal Winery Client who offered the promotion – One Cent Shipping when 12 bottles of wine are purchased!
This enhancement allows the Merchant to determine the fixed sale price, whether on a product or shipping, instead of the standard dollar amount or percentage off an item.
Another feature released is Coupon Overrides. A Merchant can now override customer discounts and customer based pricing. This can be accomplished when setting up the coupon at Coupons/Overrides. Customer Discounting takes place at the Customer level (Eg. Joe Bloggs customer discount = 10%). Customer Based Pricing is set up at the product level. Even if these discounts are set up, it is now possible to override these discounts using this new feature and hence avoiding a double dip!
The new Override Application Only option allows the Merchant to determine whether a coupon overrides:- A) all or specific discounts in the store, or B) only discounts associated with the coupon.
For example: if the Override Application Only option is on, other discounts not associated with the coupon in the store will still apply. Eg. If Override Application Option is on in conjunction with Coupon Overrides – Category Discounts, the coupon will only override the category discounts specific to those outlined in the coupon.
If the Override Application Only option is not checked, other discounts in the store will not be applied. The customer will only receive the coupon discount. Eg. If Coupon Overrides – Category Discounts is also checked, the coupon will override all category discounts in the store.
The Override Application Only option gives Merchants even greater flexibility and control when discounting their products.
